This means planning ahead -- say, Friday. But it’s worth it, says Rick Browne, host of Barbeque America on PBS, because you can pass up that well-marbled ribeye steak and buy a less tender and less expensive choice to grill like a flank steak or chuck steak. Houses SOLD: 2 Homes Last Week

Only two warranty deeds were recorded in Town Hall during the week of Jan. 15-21.

Only two warranty deeds were recorded in the Barrington Town Hall last week, Jan. 15-21. The properties are located in the middle school neighborhood and the Drownsville neighborhood in West Barrington. The sale prices on the properties were a low of $100 and a high of $239,000. The latter price can give you some idea of the value of your property if you live near or in that neighborhood. The former sale was a transfer of property within a family.

Garden Club Gathers to Talk 'Birding'

Housing trustees meet tonight; rowing club offers indoor training; learn to paint at Senior Center.

“Birding 101” is the subject of the Barrington Garden Club meeting at noon in the library, with Mike Tucker of the Audubon Society of RI sharing his knowledge of how to create back-yard environments that will attract birds.
