'Sleepy Hollow' With Something Special

The Barrington High School Stagemasters' produce 'The Legend of Sleepy Hollow' starting tonight and running Friday and Saturday at 7 pm.

There will be something "special" about the Stagemasters' production of "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" that debuts tonight, March 21, on the Barrington High School stage and continues Friday and Saturday nights, March 22-23. “What makes this show so different is the use of special effects we observed on field trips," said director Stephanie Spaziano, a teacher and drama club advisor at the high school. The special effects were found at haunted-house attractions around New England, she said. Among the haunted houses the students visited were Spooky World in New Hampshire, Trails of Terror in Wakefield, and the Dark Manor in Connecticut. Stagemasters Making 'The Legend of Sleepy Hollow' Something Special

The Barrington High School drama club performs three shows next week, complete with special effects found at haunted houses.

Washington Irving’s haunting tale of ghosts and revenge comes to the stage at Barrington High School this week. It will be complete with special effects found and used in haunted-house attractions around New England.  The Stagemasters perform three shows of “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening, March 21, 22, and 23. The Stagemasters drama club at Barrington High School performs this Broadway musical this weekend.

Take a peek at the Barrington High School Stagemasters' production of "Annie Get Your Gun" this weekend. Shows are Friday and Saturday, Nov. 16 and 17, at 7, and there is a matinee on Sunday, Nov. 18, at 2. Tickets are $5 for students and $8 for adults on Friday and Saturday evenings. The adult tickets for the matinee are $7 for adults. A full dress rehearsal took place Wednesday evening.

Curtain Rising on Stagemasters' Show

The Barrington High School drama club will present 'Annie Get Your Gun' this weekend in the auditorium.

The Barrington High School "Stagemasters" drama club presents Annie Get Your Gun for its fall presentation this weekend in the auditorium. Evening shows are Friday and Saturday, Nov. 16 and 17, at 7. There is a Sunday matinee on Nov. 18 at 2, said Stephanie Spaziano, the theater arts teacher who directs the drama club. Tickets are $5 for students and $8 for adults on Friday and Saturday evenings. The adult tickets for the matinee are $7 for adults. Annie Get Your Gun is a musical with lyrics and music written by Irving Berlin based on a revised version of the book by Dorothy and Herbert Fields. BEF Shines 'Spotlight on the Arts'

The Barrington Education Foundation launches during its 20th anniversary celebration an 'arts enrichment campaign' that kicks off with a June 14 fundraising event.

A special fundraiser to benefit the theater arts and music programs that use the Barrington High School stage will be held on June 14. The Barrington Education Foundation is hosting the event at the Rhode Island Country Club. It runs from 7 to 10 pm. Titled “Spotlight on the Arts,” the event is part of the BEF’s 20th anniversary celebration. Proceeds from the event will launch an “arts enrichment campaign” that is targeting the purchase of new computerized lighting and motorized rigging equipment for the auditorium stage. Current rigging, which allows theater directors to change backdrops for scenes, is handmade and hand-rolled, said Stephanie Spaziano, theater director at the high school.
