5 Girls, 4 Boys Qualify for New England Track Championships

Barrington High School’s girls’ and boys’ indoor track teams finished fourth and sixth, respectively, at the RI state championship meet last weekend, according to the Barrington Times, with nine of the athletes qualifying for the New England championships. Girls scoring points and qualifying for the New England Interscholastic Championships on March 2 were: Abby Livingston in the 600 meters, Megan Verner-Crist in the 1500 meters, Shenelle Teixeira in the 55m hurdles, and the 4×800 meter relay team -- Livingston, Verner-Crist, junior Julianna Portelli, and freshman Julia Zitzmann.
