Nor'easter Could Mess With Thanksgiving Week Travel

Forecast indicates that a potential nor'easter is forming up; it could scramble Thanksgiving week airline travel in particular.

Another nor’easter could scramble airline travel during Thanksgiving week, according to accuweather.com. A nor'easter may form over the western Atlantic by Sunday, sending rain and wind into parts of the mid-Atlantic and Northeast through at least the middle of the week, according to the private meteorological company. "How close to the coast the storm tracks will determine how unsettled the weather gets in the I-95 corridor to the Appalachians," said accuweather.com senior meteorologist Alex Sosnowski. There is potential that the nor'easter could strengthen and move farther inland into New England at midweek. Nor'easter Heading This Way

Rhode Island is bracing for another severe storm tonight into Thursday, Nov. 8.

Rhode Island and the Northeast are in store for more rough weather this week as a nor'easter heads our way today, Nov. 7, and carries into Thursday morning. Forecasters are predicting strong winds between 25 and 35 mph with gusts up to 65 mph. Additionally, the storm will bring chilly temperatures and rain -- possibly even snow in some areas. The nor'easter is expected to hit the Northeast from Cape Cod down to New York City, which was hit hard by Hurricane Sandy last week. This incoming storm's winds are expecting to be even more damaging as many trees, limbs and structures have already been weakened by last week's superstorm.
