Last Saturday was a National Day of Service as part of the Presidential Inauguration Committee's plan for President Obama's second inauguration on Monday, Jan. 21. Volunteers from Barrington restocked the food pantry shelves at TAP-IN and collected other donations from 8 am to noon, according to Anne Connor, a local organizer.
You can volunteer to help TAP-IN, the American Cancer Society and Barrington Beach on Saturday, Jan. 19.

Saturday is a National Day of Service as part of the Presidential Inauguration Committee's planning for President Obama's second inauguration on Monday, Jan. 21, which will honor The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on the federal holiday that bears his name. And there are three locations in Barrington where volunteers can give some service, according to Anne Connor of Barrington, a local Obama Democrat and a delegate to the Democratic National Convention last fall.
