'April Fools' Coffeehouse Tomorrow

Another Local Brew Coffeehouse will be held Saturday, April 6, at the Bay Spring Community Center in West Barrington.

No fooling, there will be another Local Brew Coffeehouse in West Barrington on Saturday night. The Bay Spring Community Center hosts another concert, titled "April Fools," to help raise money for the renovation of the second floor. Doors open at 6:30 pm for the 7 pm concert. The community center is located at 170 Narragansett Ave. The musical lineup includes acoustic guitarist and singer Scott Baer; MeccaLily, a renowned quartet; singer and guitarist Mark Bowle, and Bay Spring Folk, Barrington's own folk quartet. Local poets Stan D'Angelis and Karen Donovan will read some of their poetry as well. Tickets are $5. Children 12 and under are free. Coffee and pastries will be sold. Historic Arts Celebration on Tap -- Twice

The 'Late Winter Festival' on Sunday afternoon in Barrington library merges some of the town's top performers and entertainers in two shows.

A historic celebration of the performing arts takes place in Barrington on Sunday afternoon -- twice. And both shows are free. The "Late Winter Festival" is merging several of Barrington's top performers and arts groups -- for the first time ever, perhaps -- in the library auditorium for two 90-minute shows -- at 1:30 pm and 3:30 pm. Overflow crowds are anticipated, said Larson Gunness, who is producing the festival along with the team that creates Barrington's Local Brew Coffeehouse events. "I just hope we can accommodate everyone," Gunness said. "That's why we went to two shows." The Bay Spring Community Center in West Barrington is the usual venue for the Local Brew events. Performers Merging for 'Festival'

Perhaps for the first time ever, Barrington's performing arts organizations are joining together to present the 'Late Winter Festival' on March 3 in the library auditorium.

Get ready for what is expected to be one of the best celebrations of the arts ever in Barrington. And it is all for free. It's being billed as the "Late Winter Festival." And it is expected to draw so many people that not one but two shows are planned on Sunday afternoon, March 3. The show is a merger of some of Barrington's leading arts groups and performers -- perhaps for the first time ever, said Larson Gunness, who is coordinating the festival along with the Local Brew Coffeehouse events team. The coffeehouse team is best known for producing shows at the Bay Spring Community Center in West Barrington. But that venue is far too small to host this type of festival right now, said Gunness. Enjoy 'Groundhog Day Concert'

The Local Brew Coffeehouse at the Bay Spring Community Center in West Barrington hosts the show on Saturday, Feb. 2.

Celebrate an early spring – or six more weeks of winter -- on Saturday, Feb. 2, at another Local Brew Coffeehouse in West Barrington. It’s a “Groundhog Day Concert” in the Bay Spring Community Center at 170 Narragansett Ave. Doors open at 6:30 pm for the 7 pm concert. The lineup includes Gypsy Nights (Chuck Rejto and Janos Pergo); Joanne Lurgio, the Motif magazine music awards 2012 female vocalist of the year; Barrington’s own Mark Whittaker with Nick Stephens, John Tomoulonus and Dan San Fillipo; and Bay Spring Folk, another Barrington-based favorite.  All of the musicians will jam at the end of the show. Fiddlers Returning to Haines Park

Hear some great fiddle music on Saturday at Haines Memorial State Park; it's the second Fiddle 'n Folk Fest at 1 pm.

Coffeehouse at Community Center

Another Local Brew Coffeehouse is on tap Saturday night, June 23, at the Bay Spring Community Center in West Barrington.

The Bay Spring Community Center in West Barrington hosts another Local Brew Coffeehouse Saturday night, June 23. The show starts at 7 pm. Doors open at 6 pm. Headling the show is Chris Monti, a writer, singer, songwriter, musician and bandleader who will perform solo on Saturday night. He sings and plays acoustic and electric guitar: fingerpicking, flatpicking and playing slide. He also plays harmonica, clawhammer-banjo, bass, kazoo, dobro, lap steel and a little bit of mandolin and piano, according to his website.
