Host Moses Brown School of Providence scored the winning goal with two seconds left to play Thursday afternoon and defeated Barrington, 11-10, in a thrilling quarterfinal-round match of the Rhode Island Interscholastic League’s Division I state playoffs. Cole Morrissette took a pretty feed from Eric Salzillo and cleanly fired the ball into the net to snap a 10-10 deadlock as the third-seeded Quakers (6-5) advanced to the semifinal round of the playoffs next week at Rhode Island College in Providence against second-seeded Bishop Hendricken High of Warwick. The top-seeded Barrington girls' lacrosse team easily moves past Prout, 24-5.

The Barrington High School girls’ lacrosse team lived up to its billing as the to seed and blitzed The Prout School of South Kingstown, 24-5, in a quarterfinal-round contest of the Division I playoffs on Thursday. The victory was the 15th this spring for Barrington against Division I rivals and earned it a berth in the semifinal round next Wednesday at Rhode Island College against either fourth-seeded East Greenwich High (10-3) or fifth-seeded St. Mary/Bay View Academy of East Providence (6-7). Playing at Victory Field, the Eagles had little difficulty eliminating Prout.
