The annual holiday festival concludes with the tree-lighting at Barrington Town Hall on Saturday, Dec. 1.
Throngs of Barringtonians flocked to government center Saturday afternoon, Dec. 1, for the annual Festival of Lights. The weather, sometimes damp, did not seem to spoil the festivities for anyone. The annual event concluded with the lighting of the tree on the lawn of the Town Hall. Music and entertainment was provided by the choruses at Barrington High School and Barrington Middle School, Arts Alive! and Prestige Ballet. A trolley toted people from business to business, many offering their own activities, betwen 1 and 5 pm. A train gaves rides around Town Hall. Food trucks served goodies. Friends of the Bay Spring Community Center sold luminaries and lit a few at the veterans memorial. Children made paper ornaments. The event was …

The annual Festival of Lights is getting bigger and better than ever; it takes place Saturday, Dec. 1, around Town Hall and with Barrington's business community.
Barrington will look a lot more like Christmas on Saturday afternoon, Dec. 1. Santa Claus and his elves will be at the government center for the annual Festival of Lights in the late afternoon. Santa will light the tree in front of the Town Hall at 5:30 pm. Flower Power has already lined County Road with the holiday balls. Luminaries are expected to light up the Town Hall lawn and driveway and, optimistically, some streets around town as the festival winds down in the early evening.
