Barrington Woman Pleads Not Guilty to Alleged Threat to 'Shoot Up' School

Cynthia Balcewicz of Third Street allegedly said she should 'shoot up' East Providence High School, where her son attends, after a run-in with school officials.

  A Barrington woman pleaded not guilty in Sixth District Court on Wednesday, Jan. 30, after allegedly threatening to “shoot up” East Providence High School on Monday, Jan. 28, after a run-in with school officials. Her son reportedly attends the high school. Cynthia Balcewicz, 34, of 57 Third St., turned herself into East Providence police earlier on Wednesday after a warrant was issued for her arrest on a charge of disorderly conduct, according to a story in eastbayri.com. The alleged threats came after she reportedly got upset with a school rule about students using cell phones in the building. Unlocked Vehicle 'Bandit' Charged

Barrington police charge East Providence man, 19,with five larcenies after he allegedly ransacked vehicles in the Sherwood and Primrose Hill neighborhoods in late December.

An East Providence man, 19, faces five larceny charges by Barrington police after he allegedly ransacked unlocked vehicles in the driveways of homes in the Sherwood and Primrose Hill neighborhoods about three weeks ago. Christopher S. Storti, of 153 Worcester Ave., turned himself in to police late Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 10, said Police Chief John LaCross. The five counts of larceny under $500 Storti is charged with are misdemeanors. LaCross said all of the alleged thefts by Storti occurred at homes in those two neighborhoods. They are among the dozen that were reported to Barrington police on Dec. 28 from owners of unlocked vehicles on Hemlock Drive, Rosedale Avenue, County Road, Sherwood Lane, Carriage Trail, Great Road and Richmond …
