Cox Communications Email Restored, Old Messages May Appear Sporadically

Cox Communication customers in Midwest, East Coast regions were impacted by outage.

  Cox Communications e-mail customers, stymied since last Friday, have their service back this morning, but messages sent to their accounts since Friday will be showing up sporadically this week. This morning, Cox Communications' website reports that as of 6:30 a.m., email service had been restored to their customers.  Email that was sent to Cox customers' e-mail accounts since Friday will arrive sporadically over the next few days, the company reports, and may not be delivered in the order they were sent. "Now that service is restored we are moving forward with replacing email storage platform equipment and implementing measures to prevent a reoccurrence of these issues," the company wrote. Teitz Gets Communications Scholarship

Elizabeth (Liz) Teitz of Barrington receives an award from Cox Communications.

Elizabeth (Liz) Teitz of Barrington was one of eight high school seniors to be awarded a 2012 Cox Communications scholarship at a recent ceremony at the RI State House. In total, Cox Communications awarded $16,000 in scholarships to the seniors. Teitz graduated about two weeks ago. The students were recognized by Attorney General Peter Kilmartin for their commitment to their education and the community. Scholarship recipients are chosen based on their outstanding academic achievement; community service; and interest in pursuing a career in the communications, telecommunications, technology or engineering fields. Ice Hockey Star Cox Award Nominee

Meghan Miller of Barrington has been named a nominee for a Cox RI Sports Award in girls' ice hockey.

Meghan Miller, standout member of the Barrington High School state champion girls' ice hockey team, is among the Cox RI Sports Awards 2011-12 winter scholar-athlete nominees. You can vote for Meghan by clicking here. The winners will be revealed at the sixth annual Cox RI Sports Awards presented by the RI National Guard in June 13, 2012 at the RI Convention Center. The 2012 Winter Scholar-Athlete nominees were selected by coaches and athletic directors from the RI Interscholastic League and the Cox RI Sports Awards Committee. The Ocean State’s best high school scholar-athletes from each sport for every season, as well as the Team of the Year and Coach of the Year, will be announced.
