Barrington Named to AP Honor Roll

The College Board recognizes Barrington for its students' advanced placement test scores by placing it on the third annual AP® District Honor Roll.

Barrington has been honored by the College Board for the Advanced Placement results of its students, according to Superintendent Michael Messore. "Barrington Public Schools is one of 539 school districts across 44 of the 50 states in the U.S. and Canada being honored by the College Board with placement on the 3rd Annual AP® District Honor Roll for simultaneously increasing access to Advanced Placement® course work while increasing the percentage of students earning scores of 3 (out of a possible 5) on AP Exams," Messore said in a press release. There's More Good Test Score News

Barrington leads Rhode Island in SAT and AP test scores, according to the College Board.

Barrington schools have received more good assessment-test score news. The high school seniors who took the SAT test last year as juniors scored the highest overall in Rhode Island in the 2012 scores, according to the College Board. The Scholastic Aptitude Test scores were released Monday afternoon, Sept. 24. The new SAT scores also recovered almost all the losses seen from 2010 to 2011 in Barrington. The AP (Advanced Placement) test results for 2012 also have Barrington High School well ahead of every other school in the state. SAT scores for 2012 show Barrington at 573 in reading, 588 in math and 559 in writing. Only in the latter did Barrington not score the highest in RI – East Greenwich had a score of 563.
