As Holidays Wind Down, Keep Eye on Christmas Tree Safety

Dried-out trees and frayed or cracked light sets can pose significant fire safety hazards.

A Christmas tree fire is rare, but that blaze can spread within a minute to engulf a room. Take a look at the video used by the Barrington Fire Department to promote fire safety. It's found on the fire department's website and YouTube. A dried-out tree is an especially dangerous source of fuel for a fire – far worse than a fresher tree.
