Police Cove Park Plans Tweaked
The committee working with a consultant to build the park at Police Cove also wants to seek public art proposals and a possible name for the new Barrington park.
After a summer hiatus, about half of the committee charged with designing a park at Police Cove in Barrington got back together Tuesday night, Sept. 18, in the Town Hall with its consultant to look over final site plans. The group perused 17 pages of site plans described by the consultant, Steve Derderian of Vanasse Hangen Brustlin Inc., as “about 85 percent complete.” The committee members also viewed a variety of suggestions for LED lighting fixtures and poles, benches, bike and boat racks, picnic tables, shade features and concrete pavement. They chatted about adding some “public art” to the park between the East Bay Bike Path and the Andreozzi Bridge off of County Road. And they agreed to solicit prospective names for the 1-acre site …
