Among the services offered to residents 55 and older are social and recreational activities such as scrabble, bridge, bingo, seminars, day trips, a weekday lunch, parties, and overnight excursions. Personal enrichment activities include painting, chorus, computer and safe driver classes. Wellness activities include exercise, tai chi, yoga, line dancing, chair massage, blood pressure checks, a flu clinic, and glaucoma screening. Seniors can get help with health insurance, prescription plans, and emergency dialer system installations. A seven-member Senior Center Advisory Board oversees operations. Friends of the Barrington Senior Center raises funds through a yearly campaign. A computer lab, the senior van and the fitness room are among their gifts. The Senior Center is located on the south side of the library and community center building.

As the only established temple in this area, it serves as "a gathering place for social, educational, spiritual, and community activities." The 200-family congregation is bound together by Reform Jewish values. It serves Jews by birth or choice and interfaith families. Shabbat observances are held Friday night and Saturday morning. Among its outreach efforts are social action projects for all ages, teen programs, senior "Renaissance" activities and Sisterhood for women. An accredited religious school serves children from kindergarten through 10th grade and hosts a satellite preschool and after-school kindergarten program for the Jewish Community Center of Rhode Island. Rabbi Andrew Klein provides the spiritual leadership.
