Paul......So, did you actually read my comment? It's not a junk store. It's sells food, and everydayRead More products. Even pet foods. So, like I said. It must be nice being rich, and not caring where your money goes. That's half the problem with America. People with any kind of money, could give a crap less about the people with not so much money. Yet. When there's an overseas tragedy, you people are right there with your check books to make a donation because it boosts your yuppy ego, and makes you think that your better than everyone else. So answer me a question Paul? When you go into a store and the product that you want to buy is, say, only .99cents? Do you not buy it, because you'd ratehr pay more for it somewhere else? Just to make you feel superior to the other person that pays .99cents for it? Please. You make no sense.

Oh No ! I hope it won't be the Burlington/Lexington store ! Some fo the household products areRead More brand names and worth the 'dollar'.
Concerned citizen April 11, 2014 at 04:57 pm
No thanks! Gambling is a non constructive endeavor, a zero sum game of redistribution of existingRead More resource, minus a profit of which the lions share goes to a few. No Thanks! By the way the Citizens Concerned about Casino Gambling organization has a majority of democrats within it's ranks steadfastly opposing the expansion of gambling in Newport for years. There are alternative uses for that property that would not draw resources away from existing but enhance the many downtown attractions. To name a few that could benefit....historic attractions, cultural, sport and arts events, restaurants, music venues, pubs and activities downtown. The ways they could benefit.....better mass transit and expanded public parking, boat storage, craftsman facilities, advanced education, road and construction job training facilities to keep contracted work project profits within the community, bakeries, farmers market, weekend flea market, local mass transit train station, public event center, day care center convenient for commuting parents and visitors, a kennel, a carriage horse stable, alternative wind and solar energy fabrication installation training facility to name just a few constructive opportunities for citizens and visitors that might be worth exploring the economics of expenditures lost to non local public spending. Creative ideas need to be exhaustively analyzed for community benefit for many people more than for commercial profit for a few.

With Paolino the Prov. fixer, DeSavery the Carnegie elitist and Roiff the Boston boutiqueRead More hotelster.....all in cahoots....looks like they are going to pick off the Newport Grand cheap and try to turn it into a uber high end entity that you or I will never be able to utilize. Sounds like a quick shuffle, make some I'm OK..Your'e Ok...noise and abracadabra.....A Providence style Monte Carlo with the boys from the Hill all a tither. Not good for Newport at all and even less good for the State of RI

Sad story, I got my start at the corporate office back when they were in Nashua. Good company withRead More good people back then. I used to smoke butts in the corner office on weekends when nobody was there and then 'test' the marketing department's massage chair. Ah...the good old days...

Mr. victor, Im ashamed of myself, I have not had a job since 1982. To be honest with you I guessRead More that criticising you about living off other peoples money in some way is also criticising myself. I find ways to get by living off people. I look at it as private money is passive income, different than tax payer money dolled out through federal grants.
Victor Ramos April 9, 2014 at 11:45 am
Russ, no judgment here. Your honesty is appreciated and work is work. It's a tough world. You'reRead More definitely one of the many voices in the community. Thank you for checking out my information and website. At least now when you go after me and the work I do, you'll have a little more insight into the different hats I wear. Hope to see you at a screening some day. It's been fun. Be well. Vic

In fact we need to stop giving our revenue to highly profitable oil companies (in the form of taxRead More breaks); corporations like Walmart who tell their underpaid employees to get aid from taxpayers; and war profiteers who build weapons that we don't need and that don't work, have huge cost overruns.
deb of see-attleboro March 29, 2014 at 11:31 am
I agree, Michael. I also think an individuals lifestyle choices should not determine taxRead More liability.
Rob C March 29, 2014 at 11:36 am
Michael, how are we giving money away to oil companies if we are “allowing” them to keepRead More what is theirs? We ARE giving money, by the truckload, to green energy companies because they cannot survive on their own. Are you equally upset about that? One technically doesn’t cost us anything the other actually does. For the record I am for rewriting the tax code with zero loopholes and tax breaks allowed for all and I also oppose all corporate welfare. If a company cannot survive without being propped up by government handouts then it should not be in business to start with.

Glenn Anderson..you're not going to get any help from the GA in RI on those issues. RI is fifthRead More worst for small business and, in a 50 state comparison, 4th from the bottom at 46...your outlook is gloomy...above said it the best.."too many riding in the cart and not pulling it"... KR March 14, 2014 at 10:49 am
Actually PMarandola, the braceletes cost much more than that to make. You should be happy that AlexRead More and Ani is in your backyard. They account for hundreds of local employees having a job in this state as well as employing hundreds more natioanlly. It amazes me how rude people can be when others achieve success. Just because you don't like something doesn't mean you should bash them. Appreciate what they have done and move on.

Well, Steve, you missed my point completely. My point was that a smart shopper in a free economyRead More will take his/her business elsewhere and never, EVER forget.
Steve Marino March 7, 2014 at 03:39 pm
Deb,I know, I just dissected a small part of what you were saying to prove my point from a previousRead More thread. Mike, a very sad time we are living in. I just hate to see the middle class workers suffer these tax increases on business, because we all know that when a company gets hit with tax increases, they usually cut their biggest expense first, which is generally payroll. It's just sad how many middle class workers voted to CRUSH themselves. At some point I hope they understand this, but with all the lies and propaganda being spread by the left wing radical Democratic Party now in control, it's hard to ever get the truth. They just blame it on their "greedy" bosses because this is the bill of goods they are sold. Very sad!
Iron Mike March 7, 2014 at 05:14 pm
In THIS state in particular Steve, too many adults were raised up hearing at the dinner table aboutRead More how 'greedy and mean those Republican fat cats are'. Their parents – mostly just high school grads at best - never figured out where their paychecks came from. Back then they thought FDR was a god. Today their kids & grandkids think Obama is one too. A certain kind of ignorance can be inherited...

Do a search on facebook for the group "guns of mass for sale/trade" very polite group ofRead More individuals
B/STOCK March 10, 2014 at 03:16 pm
Gun Rights: Watch out. You can go blind reading all the MA firearms rules. The two approvedRead More weapons rosters, will drive you crazy too. Some firearms on one roster and not the other. I know of cases where people wanted non-roster firearms transferred and they just had a FFL register the frame with the SN on it. Gun Rights, your are interpreting my post correctly by saying what " CCW holders will often forfeit the battle even though they know they could win". I wish Aspir7n would chime in and personally clarify what is so sad about this. Many unarmed people are just as civilized and under control and will ignore an idiot or incident. I still stand by my original post that armed people are generally more polite. We back off of any situation that could escalate into violence. Gun Rights. As a RI resident I do not think I can loan a pistol to a MA resident or should I say a MA resident cannot be in possession of my pistol. I could be wrong and if so let me know. Not that I would ever do that because it's legal for me to loan my car to anyone but if they get in an accident I will be liable. Same with the firearm. Have a good day all. Spring is coming.

If Tremmel's handstand was not appropriate in the eyes of management, that's fine. Management hasRead More every right to set the standards for the station and it's employees. Whether or not she did "something wrong" is a matter of opinion, and an argument can be made that what she did was unprofessional. Termination, without warning, was a gross overreaction in my opinion. Dan Jaehnig's reaction to Tremmel's handstand was at least just as unprofessional, but he wasn't terminated.

Wow. I question the lack of ethic of this vet opening right across (literally across the parkingRead More lot) from my vet who I love and have used for over 15 years. I have heard of this vet, and from what I hear she is ridiculously priced, and overly fake 'nice'. I guess I shouldn't be surprised from what I have heard about her that she would stoop so low and do this to another vet. Scum.
