Your Guide to Nightlife Orchestra's Performance in Barrington

The Nightlife Orchestra brings its Big Band and Swing sounds to Tillinghast Farm on Sunday evening.

Barrington's free Summer Concert Series continues on Sunday evening, Aug. 4, with another show by The Nightlife Orchestra at Tillinghast Farm overlooking Narragansett Bay.

The band always draws a crowd to the Nayatt Road arts facility operated by the Rhode Island School of Design. The band will perform its Big Band and Swing sounds from 6 to 7:30 pm.

The Nightlife Orchestra is one of the few remaining active big bands based in the state of Rhode Island. Since its formation in 1988, the band has played for crowds of all sizes and ages, including two U.S. presidents, according to the band's website.

You need to bring your own chairs or blankets to Tillinghast Farm. Or you can enjoy a light supper under the trees at one of the picnic tables in the grove at the bandstand, which overlooks open fields and the bay.

The final summer concert date is Sunday, Aug. 18, at Barrington Beach.

The Beach Boys tribute band, The Driftwoods, will perform from 6 to 7:30 pm.

BankNewport is again sponsoring the town concert series in partnership with the Barrington Recreation Department.
