TV Host in Town, Allin's Cove Planting This Weekend

Start planning your fall weekend with some help from Patch; there is plenty to do in and around Barrington.

Planting project. The Barrington Land Conservation Trust project is seeking the public's help on a mass planting projecy to battle invasive species. More than 300 shrubs and grasses will be planted in three areas around Allin's Cove. Volunteers are asked to bring a shovel and a trowel if they can. Volunteers will meet at 28 Byway Road Saturday at 9 a.m.

Final Farmer's Market. The last Barrington Farmer's Market of the season starts Saturday at 9 a.m. at 461 County Road.

Fall carnival. Games, prizes, food, raffles, face painting, crafts, silent auction are just some of the activities at the Barrington Christian Academy Fall Carnival Saturday beginning at 10 a.m. at 9 Old County Road.

"Hardball" host in town. Barrington Books welcomes best-selling author and MS-NBC's "Hardball" host Chris Matthews back to the store Saturday at 1 p.m. for a lecture and book signing. Tickets for the event are $29.95 — the cost of the hardcover book Tip and the Gipper: When Politics Worked. Make your reservations by visiting Barrington Books' website, or calling the store at 401-245-7925.

Suicide prevention walk. A 3-mile walk sponsored by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention is planned for Sunday at 10 a.m. at Bristol Town Beach at Colt State Park. The group is a national not-for-profit organization dedicated to understanding and preventing suicide through research, education, and advocacy and to reaching out to people with mental disorders and those impacted by suicide.
