Here's What's Happening This Weekend

Start planning your Thanksgiving weekend with some help from Patch.

Here are some things to do this Thanksgiving weekend, Nov. 29-Dec. 1, in Barrington:

Head on over to St. Luke’s School off of Washington Road for the 14th annual Trot Off Your Turkey 5K Race and 1-Mile Walk on Saturday morning. More than 1,000 runners and walkers will participate to raise funds for the Catholic school and its designated charity, TAP-IN. You still have time to register to run or walk in either of the 10 am events. Bring a canned good and buy some raffle tickets for some outstanding prizes.

John Passante of Barrington, a business executive and author, presents his book, "The Human Side, High-Touch Leadership in a High-Tech World” at Barrington Books, 184 County Road, on Saturday at 1 pm. Passante is president and CEO of Brenton Productions and the Organizational Development Group, Inc. His book challenges readers to look at the human side of leadership in the information age, where technology can sometimes isolate employees from personal contact with their leaders.

Travel across the Warren River bridge and take part in the 25th annual Warren Holiday Festival on Friday night and Saturday afternoon. Described as a real Norman Rockwell event, the festival is completely oriented for families with plenty of activities for any age to enjoy.

Ballet Prestige of Barrington presents its second performance of the classic ballet, “The Nutcracker,” on Sunday at 3 pm at St. Andrew’s School, 63 Federal Road, in Barrington. You can purchase tickets online or at the door of the McCulloch Center for the Arts.

The Silver Bells, women who make up the Take 4 quartet and Six in the City, will perform holiday music at 3 pm on Sunday at the Blithewold Mansion on Ferry Road in Bristol. The all-women's group performs four part a cappella music in the barbershop style.
