TAP-IN to Celebrate 30 Years of Touching People in Need

TAP-IN provides food, rides, clothing, furniture, Thanksgiving food baskets to people in need in Barrington, Warren, Bristol and East Providence.

TAP-IN, the Barrington-based all-volunteer nonprofit, celebrates its 30 years of helping people in need in the East Bay with a cocktail party on Dec. 5 at the Rhode Island Country Club. 

And you are invited.

The event will run from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. Attendance is by reservation only. The deadline for reservations is next Wednesday, Nov. 27.

There will be hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar, according to Elizabeth Lanink, communications volunteer for TAP-IN (Touch a Person in Need). Cynthia Elder, the director of communications for the Rhode Island Community Food Bank, will be the guest speaker.

To reserve a spot, send a check for $30 per person to TAP-IN, P.O. Box 252, Barrington, RI 02806. Or stop by the office in the lower level of the Barrington library with your check in an envelope and leave it at the “ride desk.”

Hours are Monday through Friday, 9 am to noon.
