TAP-IN Celebrates 30 Years of Touching People in Need in East Bay

TAP-IN serves people from East Providence to Bristol with a food pantry, clothing, toys with an all-volunteer staff.

Approximately 85 people celebrated the 30th anniversary of TAP-IN (Touch a Person in Need), the Barrington-based social service agency that serves communities from East Providence to Bristol, at the Rhode Island Country Club last Thursday, Dec. 5.

Guest speakers included Cindy Elder of the RI Community Food Bank and Mark Searles, a WJAR-TV meteorologist. The all-volunteer organization received a citation from the RI House of Representatives and a $2,500 grant from Rep. Joy Hearn of Barrington and Riverside to help continue TAP-IN’s “commitment and dedication to provide East Bay residents with nutritious food in order to live a healthy life.”
