Celebrate Winter Solstice at Sowams Woods

The Barrington Land Conservation Trust to recognize 7th anniversary of its acquisition of Sowams Woods.

You are invited by the Barrington Land Conservation Trust to celebrate the winter solstice and the seventh anniversary of the protection of Sowams Woods on Saturday morning, Dec. 21.

The 11 am celebration will include a walk through Sowams Woods while learning about solstice traditions on the first day of winter, also the shortest day of the year for sunlight.

The sun is at its lowest height along the horizon at 11:44 am on Saturday, according to the land trust, which acquired the wooded property off of South Lake Drive and Washington Road in 2006.
