Common Core Presentation in Barrington: The Rest of the Story
All,
Please join us for a brief Common Core information and learning session on Tuesday, Jan. 28th starting at approximately 8:30 p.m. in the Cafeteria of the Barrington High School (220 Lincoln Avenue). This session will directly follow the Common Core presentation by the Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) scheduled from 7-8:30 p.m., in the High School Auditorium. We encourage everyone to attend both sessions.
As Barrington parents, educators, local elected officials and citizens with concerns and reservations about the Common Core, we think it’s critically important to provide everyone with fact-based information and research about the Common Core State Standards and related high-stakes PARCC testing that we simply won’t get from the RIDE presentation.
This short session is open to everyone (including non-Barrington residents) and will present findings and research covering a small number of important topics of interest to parents and residents. This event is non-partisan and non-ideological in nature.
