Wrecking Ball Coming to Beach Party

All teens ages 13-19 are invited to the Barrington Beach party on Friday evening, Aug. 23.

Barrington teens are invited to a party at Barrington Beach on Friday evening.

There will be music. There will be games. There will be swimming. There will be food. In short, there will be a lot of fun.

The beach party will run from 6 to 9 pm. It is being sponsored by the Barrington Recreation Department, The BAY Team, and the Bayside YMCA.

Camp counselor Chris Jouett is organizing the event, said Michele Geremia.

“We are hoping that a teen as organizer will help to get kids to come to the event,” he said.

You may recognize Chris as the counselor who did all of the videotaping of the summer camps and produced the CDs that were given to parents when the camp sessions ended, Geremia said.

“We plan to have pizza, chips, lemonade, Newport Creamery ice cream sundaes, Smore’s and the Mobile Mug present,” Geremia said.

Perhaps much more exciting is the inflatable wrecking ball sponsored by The BAY Team, she said.

“We will also be having an archery contest, tug-of-war, volleyball and badminton, Limbo, a scavenger hunt, water-gun roulette, and Wiffle ball, she said.

Teens can make Paracord bracelets, as well. No drinks will be allowed to be carried into the event.

The Bayside YMCA is providing the music with their mobile van.

“We have gift cards that have been donated by Bagels Etc., Sweet Lorraines, Vienna Bakery and YogoCrazy,” Geremia said.

All teens are invited, ages 13 through 19.
