Fiddle 'n Folk Fest Returning

Barrington's Local Brew Coffeehouse is bringing back on Aug. 4 a show with plenty of fiddle performs at Haines Memorial State Park.

Fiddle music and more fiddle music will return to Haines Memorial State Park on Saturday, Aug. 4.

It will be a reprieve of the Fiddle ‘n Folk Fest that drew scores of people to the park last year. The concert is free, but donations will be appreciated.

The Fiddle ‘n Folk Fest starts at 1 pm. It is being produced by Barrington’s Local Brew Coffeehouse in cooperation with the RI Department of Environmental Management, which manages the park, and The BAY Team -- Barrington's substance abuse prevention coalition.

Other sponsors include the RI State Council on the Arts, Wildflour Vegan Bakery and Juice Bar, Barrington Public Library, Bay Spring Community Center, and Barrington Recreation Department.

The concert will feature a host of solo performers, bands, and duets that will offer a great range of fiddling styles. Among the featured fiddlers and fiddle-filled bands are the The Old Fiddlers Club of Rhode Island; French Roast – Michelle Kaminsky and Alan Bradbury of Barrington; Sundial; Bay Spring Folk of Barrington; Bob T and Rich Horwitz; Katherine Quinn of Barrington, and Kevin Doyle.

Bring a blanket and a picnic basket, or grill on the Haines Park fireplaces. Kids can create at arts and crafts tables. Food will be served. See a separate story in the Barrington Times.

I think you mean that it will be a reprise, not a reprieve...
