The second annual fundraiser for Save the Bay took place Sunday afternoon, Sept. 16, at Tillinghast Farm in Barrington.

Save the Bay's second annual "Beach Slam" fundraiser drew plenty of families to the Narragansett Bay shoreline and meadows of Tillinghast Farm in Barrington on Sunday afternoon, Sept. 16.

Rhode Island's best known environmental organization staged a family friendly event that included music, games, food, exhibits and activities in the fields and on the beach, including kayaking, seine fishing, rock climbing, inflatable bouncers, and some outstanding performers. Among the performers were the Brian McKenzie Group and Barrington's own children's singer, Mark Whitaker, known as "Mr. Whit."

Sunny skies, temperatures in the low 70s and a breeze off the bay created an ideal late summer atmosphere. The only thing missing was a large crowd. See the photo gallery and video.
