Jr. Pee Wees Keep Winning

Pop Warner League's Junior Pee Wees take 7th straight.

The Dick’s Sporting Goods Junior Pee Wees won their seventh straight game last Sunday, Oct. 21, beating the Sakonnet Schooners 24-0.  The victory was the Eagles’ fifth shutout, and improves their record to 7-1.

Defense was again the key to Barrington’s success, providing excellent field position throughout the contest.  Martin Agustin played a tremendous game at linebacker, with several big tackles in the backfield for losses.  Linebacker/safety Noah Werbel played great in coverage, swatting down a long pass attempt to save a first down. Slade Crane, Foster Egan and Chase White dominated on the defensive line

The Eagles’ Monster Offense had their strongest game of the season, with Robert Cahill, Jack Kelleher, Logan Graham, Marley Karnes, Meredith Kaplan and Sergio DaSilva driving downfield for a signature “bull rush” touchdown by center Matt Peecher and QB Nick Roach.

Lexi Malnerich played brilliantly at fullback, scoring two long touchdowns on excellent runs, while Zach Newberg added another fantastic touchdown run of his own.  All three of these TDs were made possible by clutch lead blocks from Peter Burgess.

RB Kyle Greenberg pounded the ball up the middle for big gains all game, bouncing off big tackles and keeping his feet moving.  Wingbacks Seth Mitchell and Will Rywolt each ran several beautiful sweeps for first downs to fuel the Barrington attack.  Center Hunter Norris was clutch with perfect snaps, and linemen Jon Adamson, Ben Silva and AJ Prete made sure the Schooners never entered the backfield.

The Eagles faced the New Bedford Bears on Saturday to finish the regular season, then begin their playoff run on Tuesday, Oct. 30, weather permitting, with the opponent and location to be determined.
