Last year the Eagles hosted the NEAAU 10U Open Division New England tournament and took home the tournament championship. The Eagles received great feedback during last year’s tournament, in particular for the event’s atmosphere and organization.

The Eagles have already qualified for this year’s playoffs by virtue of a first place regular-season finish. Eagles’ manager Tom Gower was proud of the Eagles’ selection.

“It reflects well on our program,” he said. “When we hosted New England’s last year, we wanted to provide an excellent experience for all of the players because that’s who this is for. We’ll approach this in the same way that we do everything with our baseball club. We stress excellence in everything we do – from player selection, to our offseason training program and preseason practice, to game presentation and most importantly execution on the field.”

“It all comes down to planning - you need enough umpires and announcers to cover every game, you need concessions and restroom facilities, out-of-state teams need hotels, and then there’s the weather.”

“This year’s parent group is very engaged with our program, very willing to pitch in and help.” The Eagles are also exploring community outreach options to recruit young persons who need to complete service hours to help, especially when the Eagles are playing.
