Barrington athletes go door to door again Saturday, Sept. 28, asking for your financial support.
It’s the 21st annual “Booster Day” sponsored by the Barrington Boosters Club, which provides recognition and awards, buys sports equipment and maintains the “Booster Board” and Eagles Nest concession stand at Victory Field.
“The fundraiser plays a huge part in the continued success of our support of all athletic programs at both the middle school and the high school,” said Christine O’Grady, co-chair of the Booster Day along with Chris Silva.
“The newly installed Victory Field signs are just one example of our commitment to promoting the entire sporting environment in addition to the many contributions and purchases that come out of the fundraiser,” she said.
Purchases over the past year, for example, include lacrosse/soccer goals, boys hockey practice pants, Citizens Scholarship Foundation donation, the JPMedeiros Memorial Hockey Scholarship, award jackets, plaques and emblems, iPad software for volleyball, Victory Field and Eagles’ Nest signs, folding chairs with new logo for the gym, reconditioning of wrestling mats, travel grant for boys/girls track coach to nationals, polos for coaching staff with new logo, and end zone camera and telescope.
“We are so proud of all the fantastic accomplishments of our student-athletes,” said Boosters Club president Tom Rimoshytus in a letter sent out to potential supporters. “Please help be a part of their continued success.”
