Three More School Groups to Perform at RI State House

Hampden Meadows, Middle School choruses, jazz band to perform this week as part of arts council holiday series.

Three more Barrington school musical groups perform at the Rhode Island State House this week.

The concerts are part of the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts (RISCA) holiday concert series for the week of Dec. 16. The series showcases the musical talents of Rhode Island school musicians as part of a month-long musical celebration of the holidays.

The Hampden Meadows Elementary School fourth and fifth grade chorus sings on Wednesday, Dec. 18, at 10:30 am.

The Barrington Middle School eighth grade chorus sings on Thursday, Dec. 19, at 9:30 am. 

The Barrington Middle School jazz band plays on Thursday at 10:30 am.

“We’re pleased to be continuing this holiday tradition of student performances at the Rhode Island State House,” said Randall Rosenbaum, executive director of the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts. “Close to 3,000 student musicians from forty-five schools throughout the state will perform at the Rhode Island State House in a special series of musical performances.” 

The Primrose Hill Elementary School third-grade chorus performed on Dec. 3. The Nayatt School third-grade chorus sang on Dec. 9.

All the concerts are free and open to the public.
