Schools' IT Department Could Take Over All of Barrington's Needs

The Barrington School Committee meets today at 7:30 pm in Town Hall.

The Barrington School Committee is being asked to consider taking over the information technology (IT) needs of the town’s municipal government.

The possible consolidation of IT services is on the agenda of the school board’s meeting today at 7:30 pm. The School Committee will gather in its meeting room in Town Hall.

Barrington has never had an official IT department. IT services typically were handled by a private contractor supervised by the former finance director. That could change if the school board agrees to the request.
