School Committee Meeting Postponed

Tonight’s meeting of the Barrington School Committee has been postponed.

The meeting has been rescheduled for Tuesday, June 19, according to the superintendent’s office.

The school board had hoped to deal with “alternatives” for finalizing next year’s budget after $144,000 was added to the spending plan at the Financial Town Meeting and after the “tuition-in” proposal was dropped, which caused a loss of more than $126,000 in new revenue.

Those alternatives were not expected to be ready by tonight’s meeting. So it was rescheduled.

The June 21 meeting that same week is expected to be combined with the Tuesday meeting, although a final decision has not been made.
