Be extra careful while driving in Barrington on Wednesday, Oct. 9.
Students at Primrose Hill, Nayatt, Sowams and Hampden Meadows school will be participating in National Walk to School Day.
The annual event is designed to raise awareness about the need to create safer routes to schools for walking and bicycling, according to Melissa Alschuler, a parents who is working with Principal Paul Montesi at Primrose Hill School.
The day “emphasizes the importance of issues such as increasing physical activity among children, pedestrian safety, traffic congestion and concern for the environment,” Alschuler said.
The event also “builds connections between families, schools and the broader community,” she said.
