Rhody Fresh honored by RI House of Representatives!

Rhody Fresh honored by RI House of Representatives. On Tuesday June 12, a resolution was introduced in the General Assembly by Representatives Naughton, Walsh, Valencia, Gallison and Kennedy recognizing Rhody Fresh for its economic and agricultural contribution to the State of RI. It wasn't that long ago in 2002 when RI Department of Environmental Management, Division of Agriculture awarded the dairy farmers a $21, 370 USDA Farm Viability Grant. This helped a group of local farmers committed to saving RI dairy's farms start Rhody Fresh. In attendance were the 5 original farmers of the the RI Dairy Farmers Cooperative: Barry James, Louie Escobar, Glen Cottrell, Melissa Breene and Scooter LaPrise as well as Executive Director Jim Hines and Ken Ayars, Chief of the Division of Agriculture.
