Marina Subdivision Taking Shape

Foundations for several of the new homes in the Lighthouse Cove development were being poured on Wednesday, Dec. 26.

Foundations were being poured Wednesday, Dec. 26, for the 10-house subdivision in Barrington named Lighthouse Cove.

The subdivision, which includes two affordable homes, sits on the corner of Woodbine and Narragansett avenues in the Bay Spring neighborhood as part of Lighthouse Marina (the former Lavin's Marina).

The plan for the subdivision got final approval from the Barrington Planning Board last summer. Groundbreaking was expected anytime for the L-shaped development with frontage on both streets.

Residential Properties is the realtor selling the properties. Prices of the market-value homes start at $449,000. Prices of the affordable homes will be significantly less.

The developer is Ruggiero Properties, owned by Joseph Ruggiero of Barrington, who bought the marina about two years ago. Lighthouse Cove will sit on land that has been vacant for many years.
