A husband and wife running for seats on the Barrington School Committee at the same time? It's happening this year.

“Due to previously unforeseen demands on my time, I feel I must withdraw my name as an endorsed Republican candidate for the Barrington School Committee.  I would not be able to devote the time and attention necessary to do the job to the best of my ability.”

Ramsden has an undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College and a master’s degree in education from Harvard University, said Primiano. She has worked in public relations, and for the past 12 years as a co-teacher at the Barrington Early Childhood Center.

Her activities include classroom volunteer in the Barrington schools, the PTO executive committee, the Barrington Middle School PTO co-president, and the Barrington Boosters.

Ramsden's husband, a business executive, was elected in January of 2011 in a special election.

“Their different backgrounds and perspectives will complement each other and provide balance on the committee,” Primiano said.
