Students at Roger Williams University are conducting the survey.

“The results will be used to evaluate the implementation and effectiveness of the plastic bag policy,” said Beth Rondeau of the Conservation Commission. “The Conservation Commission is also trying to assess your use of plastic and reusable bags prior to the implementation of the plastic bag ban.”

The results will be tabulated and presented to the Town Council at its December meeting.

The bag ban has a so-called “sunset” provision. It will expire automatically on Jan. 31, 2015, unless the Town Council approves an extension or makes the ban permanent at that time.
