DeSisto Promoted to Barrington Town Clerk

DeSisto, the assistant to the town clerk, will replace Linda James, who is retiring.

Assistant to the Barrington Town Clerk Meredith DeSisto has been named the new Town Clerk effective Sep. 1.

Town Manager Peter DeAngelis Jr. announced the appointment today, Aug. 9.

DeSisto will replace long-time Town Clerk Linda James, who announced her retirement in July.

“Meredith has been employed in the Town Clerk’s office for eight years in part-time and full-time positions,” said DeAngelis. “ For the past three years, she has been full time as the assistant to the Town Clerk.” 

DeSisto recently completed a three-year program of studies at the New England Municipal Clerks’ Institute & Academy at Plymouth State University in New Hampshire. She is a member of the RI Town and City Clerks’ Association.
