Barrington Needs Volunteers for Half-Dozen Boards

Six Barrington boards and commissions have vacancies; deadline for applications is on Thursday, Oct. 31.

The Barrington Town Council is looking for volunteers to serve on five boards or commissions:

The Committee on Appropriations has a vacancy for an unexpired term ending May 31 next year or through the Barrington budget-preparation process and Financial Town Meeting of 2014.

The Board of Canvassers has one vacancy with a very specific qualified elector needed. The volunteer must be a registered Republican or a registered Moderate to fill an unexpired term ending March 31, 2015.  There is a small stipend.

The Energy Committee, previously known as the Committee for Renewable Energy Barrington (CREB), has a vacancy. The volunteer would fill an unexpired term that ends in November 2016. 

The Housing Board of Trustees has two vacancies. One is for a volunteer to serve as a third alternate to fill an unexpired term ending in October 2014; one is for a second alternate to fill an unexpired term ending October 2015.

The Board of Assessment Review has a vacancy for an unexpired term ending March 31 next year.

The Juvenile Hearing Board has a vacancy that requires having lived in Barrington for at least the past three years.

You can get a résumé form at the town website, at the Town Clerk's Office in Town Hall, or at the Barrington Library. 

The deadline to submit your résumé to the Town Clerk’s Office is Thursday, Oct. 31.
