A Warwick woman allegedly stole $250 worth of clothing from Feminine Fancies in Barrington by wearing the merchandise under her clothing.

A Warwick woman, 30, has been charged by Barrington police with stealing at least $250 worth of clothing from a Barrington shop.

The alleged theft occurred on Tuesday, Oct. 30, from Feminine Fancies on County Road. The woman, Jill Nystrom, was arrested on Sunday, Nov. 4, by Warwick police after a warrant was issued for her arrest.

Nystrom reportedly shopped in the store around 3:45 pm and took two long-sleeve shirts and a bra into the fitting room. She was seen coming out of the fitting room without the merchandise, said Barrington Police Chief John LaCross, and then left the store allegedly to get cash from an ATM machine.

Nystrom was picked up by a Barrington patrol officer and brought to the police station, where she was arraigned by a justice of the peace. She told police that she did not shoplift the clothing and was in the store while her daughter was visiting with friends in Barrington.
