SUV Pulled Out of Hundred Acre Cove

Lincoln Navigator was three-quarters submerged after trying to pull leaky boat out of water at Walker Farm boat ramp.

A Lincoln Navigator SUV had to be pulled out of Hundred Acre Cove Wednesday afternoon, July 20, after it drifted down the boat ramp at Walker Farm and into the water, according to Barrington police.

The vehicle was described as three-quarters submerged, police said. It is owned by a Swansea resident who was pulling a boat out of the water.

Details are a bit sketchy, but it appears that the Navigator’s rear tires went flat while trying to extract the boat around 4:45 pm. The boat was taking on water because the bilge pump was not working, police were told.
