'Party Patrols' Target Teen Drinkers

Barrington police officers will be on the lookout for underage drinkers during the Thanksgiving holiday.

Underage drinkers are the specific target during Thanksgiving weekend. The Barrington Police Department’s 'party patrols' are back.

Police Chief John LaCross said extra police officers will be on the lookout for anyone under age 21 who is drinking illegally.  It’s all in the name of their safety.

Forget about getting a warning. The police have a long-standing zero-tolerance policy. Underage drinkers will be charged. Period!

Forget about having a designated driver as well. If you are under 21, you will be charged if you are driving or just along for the ride if you are drinking.

Money for the party patrols comes from law enforcement grants and The BAY Team substance abuse prevention task force in Barrington.
