Man Finds Strange Woman Talking on Cell Phone in His Kitchen
The Barrington man found her chatting with someone; she told him she just walked into the wrong house.
Imagine this.
You are home alone. Suddenly you hear a woman’s voice in your kitchen. She is telling someone that there is no one at home.
A Barrington man experienced this scenario last Wednesday, Sept. 25, at around 4 pm. He walked into the kitchen from his back yard and found a woman talking on her cell phone, said Barrington Police Chief John LaCross.

The woman turned and looked at him and said something like: “I think I’m in the wrong house” after he asked her what she was doing there. She walked out the door and headed for a vehicle described as a “beat-up black car," LaCross said.
The man then called Barrington police. Several patrol officers responded and did a search of his neighborhood, including both sides of Lincoln Avenue, Narragansett Street and the nearby Sweetbriar housing complex. They came up empty, said LaCross.

A safer response by the man would have been to call the police department and stay out of the house, the police chief said.
