Man, 30, Busted With Illegal Drugs

Pawtucket man, stopped for speeding on New Meadow Road, wanted on two warrants and possessing controlled substances and marijuana.

A Pawtucket man, 30, was picked up by Barrington police early last Friday morning, June 28, on two District Court arrest warrants and in possession of illegal drugs.

Christian P. Frederick, of Avon Street, was driving on New Meadow Road near Meadowbrook Drive when he was stopped for speeding at about 7 am, according to the arrest report. His vehicle was clocked at 42 mph in a 25-mph zone.

A check with the criminal database found the two arrest warrants, one from 6th District Court and one from 2nd District Court, both for driving with a suspended license in Portsmouth and East Providence.

A search of his vehicle then allegedly found a pill bottle containing 10 different illegal pills, said Barrington Police Chief John LaCross. Police officers also found less than an ounce of marijuana in the vehicle. 

Frederick was charged with possession of and driving in possession of controlled substances, according to the arrest report. He was taken to the Barrington police station and locked up before being taken to District Court to face the new charges as well as the old ones.
