Juvenile Walks Into Drug Bust

Barrington police arrest teen for marijuana possession after he's spotted hanging around a vehicle in a driveway on Middle Highway.

The moral of this arrest might be don’t hang around in somebody’s driveway early in the morning.

Barrington police officers Anthony DeCristofaro and Mark Haddigan responded to a Middle Highway man’s call Sunday, July 15, at 2:12 am about a suspicious subject spotted near a vehicle in his driveway, according to Police Chief John LaCross. The caller also provided a description of the suspicious man’s clothing.

A 17-year-old teen wearing the white shorts and red shirt described by the caller was soon in police custody after he was stopped while walking to his home on Middle Highway. Police allegedly found marijuana and a glass bowl used to smoke the controlled substance in a front pocket.

The teen was charged with possession of marijuana first offense before being released to his parents. He was given a date in Family Court.
