A Barrington High School student apparently decided to celebrate his 18th birthday last Friday, Oct. 12, with a little more than cake.
Thomas Cummings, of 14 Manor Road, has been charged with possession of marijuana. He was spotted by Assistant Principal Edward Daft standing in a corner with something suspicious at about 12:39 pm.
Cummings was carrying in his pocket a baggie of marijuana and a smoking bowl, according to Barrington Police Chief John LaCross. He was taken to the school office to wait for the arrival of Patrol Officer Dianne Pinto.
Cummings was taken to the police station and charged. He was released into the custody of his father.
