'Friendly' Bull Mastiff Bites Walker

An East Providence man, 72, is bitten by a dog at the Barrington High School track.

 

An East Providence man, 72, walking with a friend from East Providence, 71, on the track at Barrington High School reported to police late Monday morning, Sept. 24, that he was bitten by a large brown Bull mastiff.

The dog runs loose at the high school track frequently while its Barrington owner walks the track, according to the police report.

The man told police that there have been no problems with the dog in the past. But this time the dog bit his forearm when it was approached by the walkers at around 11:30 am.

The man was transported by Barrington rescue to Miriam Hospital for treatment. The dog bite was reported to the state health department.
