Firefighters Battle Blaze in Hampden Meadows

Details about the fire were still sketchy late Tuesday night.

Firefighters from Barrington, Warren and Seekonk extinguished a fire at a log home in Hampden Meadows Tuesday evening, Nov. 26.

The house sits at the end of Burr Avenue off of Sowams Road. The fire reportedly started around 8 pm, according to eastbayri.com. It took about an hour to knock down the blaze.

Reports on the fire were still being pulled together late Tuesday night. Barrington Fire Lt. Ed Owens, the officer in charge, was still on the scene with other firefighters at 11 pm, according to a Barrington fire dispatcher.

Firefighters fought the fire during Tuesday night's steady rain. Barrington police blocked off the narrow street to the house, which was lined with hoses and fire equipment.
