Defendants Are No-Shows at Second Municipal Court Session

Two defendants facing 'skinny-dipping' and illegal parking charges skip the Thursday morning session in Barrington Town Hall.

What if Barrington scheduled another Municipal Court session and nobody came?

That’s what happened Thursday morning, Sept. 19, according to eastbayri.com

Neither of the defendants involved in the two cases on the docket made an appearance, including the young Barrington man who was charged with “skinny-dipping” in Wood’s Pond.

Daniel MacMillan, the alleged skinny-dipper, faced a charge of indecent exposure for reportedly swimming nude in the pond near the library just off of County Road. Police found him wearing only a T-shirt on a nearby bench when they responded to a call about his antics.

Andy Falvey of Providence also did not appear in court on a summons for parking illegally on Beach Road.

Both men were found in contempt of court by Judge Frank Connor and ordered to pay $45 in court costs. They will be contacted again by the court clerk to appear in Town Hall on the next court date of Oct. 17, when they will face the possibility of $500 fines and 30 days in jail.

Barrington Police Chief John LaCross said warrants will be issued for their arrests if they fail to appear in Municipal Court in several weeks.
