A 55-year-old Bristol man who was arrested last week by Seekonk Police for hiding a camera in the women's locker room at Planet Fitness  is facing new charges of video voyeurism for a similar crime he allegedly committed here in Barrington.

And this time, it was in a church.

Barrington Police Chief John M. LaCross said Barrington Police obtained a warrant to arrest Mark H. McVay, of 434 Paddock Court in Bristol on one count of video voyeurism.

Police said they were contacted by Seekonk Police on June 27 after they discovered evidence that showed a crime similar to the one committed at Planet Fitness took place in Barrington.

Four videos reportedly were taken at United Methodist Church in Barrington about six months ago. The videos were extracted from McVay's phone during a forensic investigation and reportedly were of a juvenile.

McVay was ordered held without bail at the Adult Correctional Institutions in Cranston as a probation violator.

Bail on the new charge was set at $10,000 with surety.

McVay was on probation after a conviction for breaking and entering and possession of a controlled substance in 2009. He was sentenced to five years in prison, one to serve, and began a one-year probation on Feb. 27 of this year.

McVay is due to return to court on July 9 for a determination of attorney hearing and July 16 for a probation violation hearing.
