Barrington Fugitive, 34, Arrested

Barrington police arrest man on warrant out of Florida for violating probation on grand theft larceny charges.

A Barrington man, 34, was picked up by police on a warrant from Florida as a fugitive from justice last Tuesday afternoon, July 3.

Dennis H. Jacobs, of 82 Orchard Ave., was arrested at 4:30 pm after police received a tip that he was working at that address. Eight police officers responded to serve the warrant, according to the police report.

Jacobs violated his probation on grand theft larceny charges in Florida, said Police Chief John LaCross. He was taken to the police station, where he was arraigned by a justice of the peace.

Florida authorities planned to extradite him back to Florida, said the police chief. Jacobs was to be kept in custody until their arrival.
